An old silat teacher in Pahang first described the method of learning to sync your beliefs, intentions, promises and actions. I don't remember it verbatim, but here's an approximation of what he said:
"Kalau pakcik hendak ke kedai beli barang dapur, kadangkala ada kawan-kawan ajak minum dekat gerai. Pakcik cakap dekat mereka, 'Aku nak ke kedai'. Menapak balik tu, mereka ajak lagi. Pakcik cakap, 'Aku nak pulang'. Sudah sampai rumah, Pakcik letak barang, baru pasang niat hendak minum bersama kawan".
He said, being true to yourself builds character and eliminates confusion and doubt in your heart. When you do what you say you intend to do based on a belief you have, no one can ever conquer your mind.
In fact, it is you who can conquer others. Practice being in sync and surprise yourselves.
